Excerpts from owner complaints (unverified):
The transmission (Torque Converter) is shuddering at a certain RPM range when it is in 3rd gear (in between 1000-2000 RPM) in my case. (Roughly 15-25 mph) This could lead to an uneven acceleration and cause an accident. Especially in a bad traction situation ex)snow, rain, uneven surface and etc.
2022 LEXUS NX owner, Unknown Or Other, NHTSA complaint 11688831
On two occasions the car has locked us out. The auxiliary battery fails which does not allow the electric door locks to operate. It’s necessary to follow a manual procedure to unlock the driver door so the hood can be opened and the auxiliary battery can be charged and the car jump started.
2022 LEXUS NX owner, Electrical System, NHTSA complaint 11495096
Two year old 22500 miles. Driving down the highway doing around 75 and my sunroof blew up. Just exploded. Nothing hit it, temperature was around 70 degrees. Was about 10 miles into my morning commute. Nothing could have caused this. No impacts, no odd temperature fluctuations. Just a glass failure.

Can a recall make your NX a lemon in California?
Owners of a Lexus NX often ask whether these recalls mean their vehicle qualifies under California's lemon law. Not by themselves. The question is whether a covered defect keeps coming back, or keeps the vehicle at the dealer, after a reasonable number of repair attempts (Civ. Code 1793.2(d)).
2 of the 6 recalls listed here follow an earlier campaign on the same component, which can mean a first fix did not work. Most are single-repair campaigns, but repeat visits for any covered defect still count.
Within the first 18 months or 18,000 miles, California presumes the manufacturer had enough chances if the same defect was repaired two or more times when it is likely to cause death or serious injury, four or more times for any covered defect, or the vehicle was out of service more than 30 days in total (Civ. Code 1793.22(b)). Written notice to the manufacturer is required in some cases, and owners outside that window can still have a claim. An owner who prevails can recover reasonable attorney fees and costs from the manufacturer (Civ. Code 1794(d)). You pay nothing, win or lose. We are paid only if you win, and the manufacturer pays our fees, including in settlements. If a case is lost, our firm covers the costs.
What to keep: every repair order, the recall owner letters, your purchase or lease contract, and a log of dates, mileage and symptoms. Make sure every visit is written up, even when the dealer says it found nothing.
