The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal after being at a stop sign or stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle hesitated and jerked. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact then stated that after taking the vehicle to a local dealer for a taillight recall repair and driving at an unknown speed, the service light was illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to Maserati of Newport Beach (1100 West Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92663) for a routine oil change and the service department was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the thermostat housing and coolant hose needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V872000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer awaiting parts. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.” (NHTSA Complaint #11487147)

Risk: A fuel leak may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. A fuel leak also increases the risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel line sensor housing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2021. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati’s number for this recall is 442.

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The radio software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737. Maserati’s number for this recall is 740.
California’s Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1790–1795.8) is one of the strongest lemon laws in the United States. It protects buyers and lessees of new and certified pre-owned vehicles that develop substantial defects the manufacturer cannot repair after a reasonable number of attempts.
